New Story New Cover

Lately it seems that when two or more writers get together (online, in person, on the phone, where ever!) the talk inevitably turns to E-books and self-publishing. I've been reading and listening with great interest and I've watched the use of Kindles, Nooks and other e-readers grow by leaps and bounds in the past few months.

I'm afraid didn't get my nickname Cynical Cindy from nowhere. But in the past year, I've changed from being outright skeptical of e-publishing in general and self-publishing in particular, to realizing that this is a viable new option for writers to connect with readers. I became a believer when the sales of all three of my books took off after The Wild Sight was offered as a free read on Kindle!

So I've decided to take the plunge and self-publish directly to Amazon. I'm going to start small with a novelette that is a prequel to The Wild Sight, set in Ireland, of course. Also, since one of the most exciting parts of releasing a new book is seeing the cover, I went ahead and commissioned one from my friend and professional designer, Kim Van Meter. I think she did a fabulous job (THANK YOU, Kim!) and I'm thrilled to share it here!

I hope to have The Sidhe Princess available for sale sometime in July. I'll be sharing more details as soon as I know them!

Meanwhile, I'd love to know your opinion of e-readers: Love them? Hate them? Which one do you like best?

And I hope you love my new cover as much as I do!

Aunty Cindy I loved that cover and yes I have an e book reader mine is a stash and works fine for me don't get me wrong I stil love my books and always will but e books are easy to read there is less storage room required and when you go on holiday you can take so many with you.
There is a bit of a drawback living here in Australia some of the e book sellers won't let us buy them because of where we live LOL.
Smashwords is a great place for us to buy them not so easy at Amazon so if it is available on Smashwords I will get it asap.
Whoo Hoo
Have Fun

Thanx Helen,
I happen to LOVE this cover too. Also good to know about Smashwords being more "friendly" to readers in Oz. I will definitely keep that in mind when I am ready to publish the story!

Great cover, Cindy! I love it, and Kim did a wonderful job.

As you know, I LOVE my Kindle. I haven't bought a print book since I purchased the Kindle in December. I'm a total e-reader geek-girl now!

Hey Jo,
The fact that you -- a die-hard book fan like ME -- is a Kindle convert is enough to make me consider buying one. ;-)

That is a gorgeous cover, seriously. I love my ereader and use it almost constantly. I'm buying very few books in paper these day since my shelves are overflowing.

Thanks for dropping by Heather!

Glad you like the cover. I must admit this story is a bit of a departure for me, since it is not a romance. I hope you and everyone will enjoy reading it once it is released!
