My First Book Signing

Yesterday I participated in my first book signing and I had so much fun!

Three other local romance authors joined me at a local Barnes & Noble bookstore and we had a great time talking to each other and all the customers. In addition to selling our books, we gave away candy, book marks, post cards, pens, and buttons. Also, one of the other authors arranged to have 10% of sales go to benefit a local agency that provides goods and services to foster children. Talk about a winning situation!

We sold LOTS of books! I only had two copies of The Wild Sight left after two hours. Best of all, the B&N rep who arranged the signing is anxious to have us back!

One of the other authors' lovely DH took this piccie and added the captions. Yes, we romance authors know how to have FUN!
Hope you all had FUN on Valentine's Day too!

I wish I could have been there it looks like it was lots of fun and congrats on selling so many books.
I have heard a few authors say that group signings are always fun and better than doing it on your own.

Thanx Jane!
I was a little nervous, but having the other three fun gals there with me made it so much easier.

The candy and other goodies attracted people's attention. Then we could start talking about our books, which often led to a sale or two. :-) Even the Barnes & Noble CSR was impressed with our giveaways.

Helen,
Sounds like a SUPER FUN VDay! I LURVE Bar-be-cue!

I would definitely be reluctant to sit there for 2 hours on my own. It's much nicer to have another author or two with you for the fun!

How many more days until your very first Readers' Event?!?! I really wish I could be there for it!

WHOOPEEE! Give that man a big kiss from us! LOL!

DC is going to be such a blast. And I'll get me own signed copy of TWS. I lent it to a friend and she read it and passed it to another. So I'll need another copy by July. LOL!

Thanx Terrio!
I can't wait to see you, and give another knitting lesson (drops hint).

I think giving a copy of my book to a friend to read is a very HIGH compliment! Personally, there aren't many books I can recommend that highly so I'm very flattered.
