ARCs and a New Title!

A few days ago, I received my copies of the Advanced Review Copies of The Treasures of Venice, and may I just say they are GORGEOUS!

Somehow, seeing the cover in print on that glossy paper really makes it stand out. Plus, I LOVE the back cover which is dark red with white lettering. This is all subject to change in the final printing of course. But for now... I'm deeply infatuated (rapturous sigh) to the point that I'm sleeping with an ARC under my pillow.

Okay, Aunty can always find a cloud in the silver lining, one tiny little complaint is that this cover does not have a convenient vacant spot for me to put my "Autographed Copy" sticker. The Wild Sight had a perfectly sized blank area right above the word 'Wild'.

But while I'm gushing...

I received an email from my editor a few days ago with the title of my third book which is scheduled to be released in Spring 2010. Since my pubisher never seems to like my titles, I didn't bother calling this story anything other than The New Irish Tale. Yup, it's another one set in Ireland, this time the Republic, and YES again-- another Irish hunk hero!

Anyway, The New Irish Tale has now been rechristened The Wild Irish Sea!

I'm very happy with the title because not only does it harken back to The Wild Sight, but the story takes place on the rugged sea coast of Donegal, so it's doubly appropriate.

Finally, just when I thought it couldn't get any better, my editor's assistant emailed me to ask for my input on cover suggestions for The Wild Irish Sea! Not that the Sourcebooks Art Department has needed any help from me in creating fantastic covers for both my books, but I was very complimented and excited just to be asked. Now all I need to do is FINISH WRITING THE BOOK! ACK!

So with the title The Wild Irish Sea, what do you picture on the cover?

Definitely more shades of the aqua blues. Cliffs are a must and then the gray for the rains and fog. (Is there fog there? I'm totally guessing.)

Congrats on the new title and the ARCs and all the wonderful successes and milestones. And my guess is being asked for input is a good sign. You're like a total veteren at this now. It sounds so amazing to already be talking about book THREE. Not that long ago we were only talking about one and not sure on a two!

Thanx Terrio!

I'm thinking they'll go back to blue also, or possibly green. But I do LURVE the red on TToV!

I know, I know! I'm still pinching myself about THREE books. There may not be a book four, but at least I wasn't a one book wonder, which did worry me there for awhile. See, I really CAN find a cloud in the silver lining!

I love the title of book three. I'm picturing waves crashing into the shore. Blue or green would be great.

Hi Jane,

I like your image of crashing waves. Here's hoping the Sourcebooks Art Dept. is thinking along the same lines.

I love the title and agree with everyone else a bluey green colour would be great with waves crashing on a beach or cliffs or maybe a boat getting tossed in the sea with the Heroine or Hero on the boat and the other standing on the beach.
I know it will be beautiful and only 108 days to go WooHoo.

Have Fun

Helen,
LOVE your idea of one character in the boat and one on the beach! Sounds very wistfully romantic...

Can't wait to see what the Art Dept. comes up with.

Beautiful cover! I do see where can you put the Autographed Sticker (not on his head or on the title) so probably on the right towards the top tho. I'm picturing if I had it signed, LOL. I've lost books sleeping with them, LOL. Once I lost one and could NOT FIND IT! I ended up going to buy another cuz I had to read the rest, LOL. I like the title of the 3rd book! It does tie it to the first one. Are all 3 books tied together?

I do picture a stunning outside background outdoor too, at least the sea on that one too. Do you have a blurb for it yet?

I forgot to ask if you can put that 'Follow' thingie they have for the blog on the side so I can follow your blog. That way I know when you have a new post and I don't have to use my brain to figure out how how to spell the link, LOL.

Hey Caffey!
Great to 'see' you. No, none of the 3 books have any links to the others. I had to do things the hard way and make them all stand completely alone. :-)

I'll put the "followers" thing on my sidebar, if I can figure out how. But you ALL have to promise to sign up as followers so I don't look like a GIANT LOSER with nobody following me!
